Mushiya introduced to KNON Radio over 10 years ago by DJ Ima Uwagbai is affectionately known as Queen Mushiya; born in St. Catherine Jamaica (Marlie Mount),grew up in San Francisco California. Former Barbizon Model. Attended San Francisco State University, majoring in Sociology, minor in Journalism. She is a Freelance Entertainment writer for major reggae print sources globally.  Trained in Radio from an early age, she was the teen beat announcer for the local radio station in High School in San Francisco. Performed in talent shows and voted Miss year 2000 by Barbizon school of Modeling, for a fresh face. Later under the Tutelage of Jamaican Reggae Legend Mikey Dread "Jamaica's original Dread at the Controls" Mushiya has garnered global recognition and respect from her peers and artists for her work in Reggae.

She was teasingly  given the name "Queen"  by some of Jamaica's legendary reggae artists in reference to her vast knowledge in the history of reggae in Jamaica and abroad. Being a Reggae radio personality, a Writer as well as accepting the duties as Public Relations/Media Representative for the entire  KNON 89.3 Irie FM Reggae Formats, she continues to keep Reggae miles ahead in the music industry.    When Ima Uwagbai retired, Mushiya brought on the Kingston Jamaica born DJ Steady Rankin to Co-Host and fill in a void in reggae in Dallas radio. A style referred to as - Dance Hall.  Steady Rankin a very popular club DJ, having lived in Dallas for many years is the resident expert in Dance Hall music;as Mushiya - being Rastafarian handles the Rasta side of reggae, roots and culture along with vintage and lovers rock.

Steady's undeniable skill in organizing, is apparent in everything that he does. He along with his trusted side kick DJ Dollar Bill keeps the Dance Hall thing locked down. He Mixes and Mingles dancehall, crossing over to the combination style that is popular in the Dance halls today.

Where as Mushiya brings her natural Jamaican sexiness to the air, Steady with his powerful voice brings the boom to the room. The combination of the two voices has become the right ingredient to cross over, to not only the Reggae audience, but winning popularity amongst many genre's patrons on a global scale.

That coupled with - Alicia's added feminine touch and Dollar Bill's Detroit cool fake fans long for Wednesday nights. California born Soft voiced and playful Empress Alicia, updates the audience on a weekly calendar containing the wickedest happenings on the Reggae scene in Dallas.

Reggae Solutions CrewThe ever cool and masculine Detroit born -DJ Dollar Bill -who's also popular amongst Dallases Dancehall crowds, run down the top three songs in the dance hall each week.

To top off each Wednesday night we are proud to have a weekly update on "Wha Gwaan in Jamaica" by Portland Born - Komputer.   As a result we have a tight crew packing in the wicked -up -to -date Reggae sounds, news and reviews.
